VINTAGE MIAMI!!

The vintage vacation poster is based on the shore life found in Miami, Flordia. This image was found on Flickr/Creative Commons. This is not a actual photo of a beach in Miami, however, the focal point of the beach is not the clear water but the activity going on around the beach. The sun glasses are the focal part of the poster. The other main point of the poster is the woman in a bath suit. She is a essential element as the viewer beings to dissects the beach activity. The two toned colors provides unity for the poster. This was achieved by modifying the gradient map layer to purple and orange.

As I worked on my design I resizing the poster to 11 x 17 inches, altered the level image levels to increase visibility through the lens of the glasses. Additionally, I increased the saturation levels to make the main woman in the poster appear more tanned. The two toned color provides balance by providing dark and light tones producing a warmer tone for the poster. The "woman in motion" and the people in action incorporates the principle of movement by having the eye follow a path giving attention to the individuals. While woman may appear to be the focal point, the sun glasses provide emphasis to the poster by calling attention to the things that are being seen through the lenses. Contrast is represented by the two toned coloring effect. The proportion element is seen through the positioning and sizing of individuals socializing on the beach. Unity is achieved by all elements of the blog complementing one another.

How your design incorporates each of the principles of design - Balance, Movement, Emphasis, Contrast, Proportion, and Unity.
