WK4 Peer Review

To view Williams video please click: WATCH WEEK THREE DIGITAL STORY

Reflect - I related to your digital story because I too changed from a more technical to a people based career. I had imagined myself becoming a Information Technology specialist. I changed my field of study due to my professional experiences as well. It made me want to revisit my own story to revaluate what specific things I loved during my past internship. I did not like the technicality of the industry and wanted to do more with management while working with people.
Inquire - What were you trying to communicate by sharing that you were not good at communicating to people? Did you mean to state that you needed to develop your leadership skills?
Suggest - Have you considered a degree in gaming? You stated that you enjoyed working for Quantum and would have continued to work there it was financially possible. You might want to inquiring interning with another electronic or gaming organization. Adding background music would enhance your storyboard. Your voice sounded muffled. Consider reflecting on the articles given in Week 3 Content Articles to perfecting voice overs. Lastly, consider voice inflection to add levels to your story.
Elevate - Perhaps you can expand your digital story by stating your talents and abilities you acquired while interning at Quantum. You could repurpose this for helping your audience grasp and relate your enriching professional experience.

Lastly, Google Blogger was used when creating and naming my student blog for this assignment.

WK3 Discussion: Businesses & Audiovisual Media

Full Sail uses the video as a recruitment tool by capturing the Full Sail campus, classrooms, and student life. The video focuses on displaying students interacting with industry leading technology and equipment inside and outside of the class. Based on watching the recruitment video, the University is portrayed as being innovative and progressive. Capturing professionals in action working on green screens and filming in real time provides the target audience a state-of-the-art virtual experience. The video uses positive and uplifting instrumentals to accompany the speaking segments in the video. Dollar Shave Club’s video announces its new product by accompanying upbeat instrumentals with witty comicalness or punch lines. The use of profanity is not distasteful in my opinion but convincing. The frames presented are simple but ingenious when conveying the need for One Wipe Charlies. The video uses a primitive stuffed bear and a reference to Willie Wonker and the Chocolate Factory golden tickets. The video does feature the company’s CEO and a few other co-stars to convey the central message. The video changes the phrase to “golden nuggets” when referring to cleaning up dirty messes after using the bathroom. Science World’s video invites patrons to the museum by using music with lyrics and upbeat tempos to add a tone of enthusiasm. The participants in the video are singing, dancing, and performing acrobatics. There are flash mob dancers ranging from all ages. The video captures museum exhibits and individuals interacting with the interactive museum objects. The video displays people showing their excitement while visiting the museum. There are vivid colors and the music playing during the video is an American classic.

WK2 Project: Storyboard

While creating my project I utilized a fair amount of resources. This includes Flickr Creative Commons, MorgueFile, and CompFight to obtain the photographs and graphics to represent my storyboard. Secondly, I applied one of Powerpoint's interactive templates to form the body for my slide presentation. Lastly, SlideShare was used to upload the Powerpoint presentation to a web-based platform. This platform allowed the project to be uploaded and embedded into Blogger.

WK1 Project: Industry Blogs

Recently, I have been introduced to RSS Feed. According to Darren Rowse, RSS feed is described as being “a technology that is being used by millions of web users around the world to keep track of their favorite websites.”

I have decided to keep track of my most visited industry blogs through RSS feed powered through Feedly.com. This site offers an interactive platform to compose and monitor your most viewed blogs. My “Feedly” RSS Feed includes Mashable, Reddit Front Page, Gadget Lab, Living Social, The Daily Groupon, CNN Living, and ThinkGeek.

WK1 Project: My MCBS Story

Before I started the MCBS Program, I was enrolled at University Of Maryland Baltimore County majoring in Information Systems. Since I was in high school, I imagined myself working on fine-tuning computer systems into the late hours and computing complex but innovative software coding for a leading fortune 500 company. I had always thought I wanted to work with computers as an Information Technology specialist. I was very computer savvy and knew I wanted to take my aspirations to the next level. But then
I began an internship with the National Capital Coalition to Prevent Underage Drinking (NCCPUD) as community liaison and public relations worker.  Working with my mentor and coalition's Executive President, Nadine Parker, I was introducing to the wide and inspiring world of philanthropy and public relations. Because of that internship,
I began speaking on radio stations, local news stations, and in front of large crowds as an advocate for the coalition. Because of the public exposure, I gained a good amount of practice and interest into the field of communication. Because of my interests,
I applied to Full Sail University for the Media Communications Bachelors of Science program.
Until on a sunny Saturday afternoon, I received my enrollment decision from Full Sail University in the mail and had been graciously accepted into the MCBS program. And ever since then, I decided to pursue my passion for media communications and broadcasting. I have been working to complete my communications degree and pursue a career in the lucrative industry of media communications.

To complete this project, I utilized the Microsoft Word, Photoshop, and Google Blogger. Microsoft Word was used when crafting the post following the modified story pine. Photoshop was used to crop and digitally edit my personal photograph. Lastly, Google Blogger was used when creating and naming my student blog for the MCBS program.
